Precious Metal Jewelry Patterns
At last, a source for free jewelry patterns on the internet! This site will feature jewelry patterns for precious metals such as silver and gold, as well as gemstone, chain mail and bead, very few such patterns are currently available online. We have silver jewelry ring pattern pages featuring a black and white cartoon of the ring while flat, if only as a starting point for you to improve on! The cartoon may look large on your screen, but if you right-click on it, and save to your computer, you will be saving a full size jewelry pattern which you can use to resize as you please. Choose a category from the menu on the left! At the moment, we have beginner silver jewelry patterns. This set will help you practice your sawing, filing and polishing skills, and will reward you with lovely jewels. How to print your jewelry pattern To print your free patterns: simply right-click on the black and white cartoon images that are laid out below the coloured image of the pattern, and "save as" on your computer. Print from a non-scaling graphic software such as the barebones "MS Paint" which is somewhere on your computer if you have Windows. Enlarge to fit your particular ring size. |

New to jewelry?
We suggest that youy inquire about local classes. Equipment for making jewelry takes very little space, and is hardly expensive. However, do you need quite a few little gadgets and it adds up. Best is to sign up for classes that give you regular studio access. You may then purchase some of the most common tools like a saw, a bench pin, a Dremel for drilling and wax scultpting, as well as a square to keep your lines and angles straight. You can maximize the time you spend at home performing time consuming, but low-equipment requiring tasks, and the time your spend in the studio using more exotic instruments. Such instruction is money well spent. You will become proficient in using a wide array of tools... tools most people haven't heard of! Precious metals The cost of precious metal can be volatile at times. You can make substantial savings by following the price of silver, gold and platinum (sometimes checking daily), and stockpiling your materials ahead of time; and sometimes, it is wiser to postpone it. Be assured that gold always retains its worth as a store of value especially in troubled times or when there is inflation, but don't buy high and sell low... Kitco is a renowned supplier of precious metals in grain, wire, tubes, and sheet. They have offices worldwide. They buy and sell metals. Gems For practice, we recommend that you use inexpensive cubic zirconia and silver. That will give you extensive preparation before you begin working with costly one-of-a-kind faceted precious stones or gemstones, or with rarer materials such as gold and palladium. The cubic zirconias are often expertly cut, and with hardness 8.5, they are as resistant to dialy wear and tear as the real thing. Although cubic zirconia has slightly less brilliance or sparkle than diamond, it has more flashes of color and 'fire,' and is usually perfect (without inclusions). It is also quite a bit more dense, 75% more than diamond. In many ways, they are superior to diamonds. With these man-made gems, you'll be able to create fabulous pieces, without cost limiting your opportunity to practice your art.
Permission for use of jewelry patterns Permissions for use of the jewelry patterns are very simple. As long as you are an individual crafter making and selling your own crafts, you are welcome to create crafts from the patterns for gifts, even for sale. Do not, however, post the patterns and illustrations on other websites. |
